RECENT RARE BIRDS IN THE COASTAL BEND AREA

AMERICAN FLAMINGO- Continues in Port Aransas through 3/14.

RED-FOOTED BOOBY- Continues daily in Corpus Christi through 3/14.

CATTLE TYRANT- Continues daily in Corpus Christi through 3/14.

MASKED BOOBY- One bird found about 2 miles offshore Port Aransas on 3/14.

BRIDLED TERN- 3 individuals found offshore Port Aransas on 3/13.

POMARINE JAEGER- Up to 10 individuals were seen offshore Port Aransas on 3/13.

MOUNTAIN PLOVER- Several birds found near Chapman Ranch on 3/11-3/12.

 

RIO GRANDE VALLEY

 

MOTTLED OWL- Continues at Santa Margarita Ranch daily (not accessible on my tours, (3/14)

BROWN JAY- Continues daily at Santa Margarita Ranch (not accessible on my tours, (3/14)

ROSE-THROATED BECARD- Up to 3 individuals were found at Santa Margarita Ranch (3/14)

VEGA GULL- One bird continues off and on in Brownsville, last seen 3/14.

CRIMSON-COLLARED GROSBEAK- Female continues in Edinburg. (3/14)

LIMPKIN- One bird continues in Cameron county (3/12)
