RECENT RARE BIRDS IN THE COASTAL BEND AREA

AMERICAN FLAMINGO- Continues daily in Port Aransas. (8/13)

BROWN NODDY- Up to 4 individuals continue near the Port Aransas jetties (8/11)

SOOTY SHEARWATER- A Sooty Shearwater was found in Aransas county on 8/10.

RED-FOOTED BOOBY- A young bird was found offshore on the "Gulf Eagle" out of Port Aransas on 8/6.

POMARINE JAEGER- One bird was seen offshore aboard the "Gulf Eagle" out of Port Aransas on 8/5.

MASKED BOOBY- Multiple birds continue offshore Port Aransas. (8/13)

 

RIO GRANDE VALLEY

 

MOTTLED OWL- Continues at Santa Margarita Ranch daily (not accessible on my tours, 8/13).

BROWN JAY- Continues daily at Santa Margarita Ranch (not accessible on my tours, 8/13).

ROSE-THROATED BECARD- Up to 3 individuals were found at Santa Margarita Ranch (8/5).

YELLOW-GREEN VIREO- Several individuals continue in Cameron county (8/12).

BROWN NODDY- Continues in South Padre Island (8/12).
